Emo!Thor Loves Robots

tmt174intro Issue #174, The Mighty Thor (March 1970) The Mighty Thor “The Carnage Of The Crypto-Man!” Thundering!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts. It’s been quite a week around here at Hus af Snark. For those of you paying attention, we ran a test promotion on the e-book version of Minutes To Midnight over at Amazon on the 20th. And may I say, it was an unmitigated success! Over 500 copies flew out into Kindles and e-readers all over the globe. And to celebrate? We’re doing it again. ...

Emo!Thor Dodges A Bullet

tmt172intro Issue #172, The Mighty Thor (Jan 1970) The Mighty Thor “The Immortal And The Mind Slave!” Thundering!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts! I really wish Mother Nature would make up her mind. Cold or warm. Grey and wet or sunny and dry. The weather is playing havoc with my dopamine levels. It’s hard to be snarky when your outlook on life is, “Meh. Whatevs.” But hey! Things are bound to start looking up soon, right? King Tut is going to be visiting our fair city as of May 24th, and you can bet we’ll be in line to see these Egyptian treasures. Why? Because I’ve always had a fascination for all things Egyptian (as evidenced by the tons of artwork bedecking our walls). I’m thinking we’ll go on a week day because, er, less children perhaps? ...

Emo!Thor Gets Schooled!

tmt169intro Issue #169, The Mighty Thor (Oct. 1969) The Mighty Thor “The Awesome Answer!” Thunderous!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts! We had snow this week. TWICE. Big flakes that came, literally, out of nowhere, lasted all of an hour or so, and then melted into nothingness as a bright blue sky overhead beamed sunshine down like it was mid-summer. Have I mentioned yet how much I love this weather-challenged city? I seriously do. Watching the weather figure out what it’s trying to do is almost more entertaining than any television show. Speaking of television: Have I expressed my love for Castle, yet? No? Then let me do so now. Because I love it. I watched Firefly and was pretty “meh” about the whole thing. But Nathan Fillion? Ye gods. The man could do whatever he wanted to me and I’d be good to go. ...

Emo!Thor Takes A Trip

tmt168intro Issue #168, The Mighty Thor (September 1969) The Mighty Thor “Galactus Found!” Thundering!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts! So, according to Dragon, we’re supposed to have six more weeks of winter because the giant rodent saw his shadow. Okay then. Apparently Seattle didn’t get the memo, since we’ve been unseasonably warm (read: 60s) this week. Ah well. The cold is coming back, but who knows how long it’ll stick around. You won’t hear me complaining. Nope. Not a peep from this peanut gallery. In other news, it looks like Washington will take the place as the seventh state to legalize gay marriage. YAYZ! So very proud right now. And Prop 8 overturned? This has been a HUGE week for my rainbow friends! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. ...

Emo!Thor Takes His Lumps

tmt167intro Issue #167, The Mighty Thor (August 1969) The Mighty Thor “This World Renounced!” Thunderous!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts! Firstly, YAYZ Washington Senate for approving the marriage equality bill! *hugs it* I’m so proud to live in a state where the right to marry who you love, regardless of gender, will soon be protected. From all reports, it’ll sail right through the House and the governor will sign it into law as soon as it hits her desk. Dragon and I were watching the news this morning about it, and there was someone who’d replied to the story, saying that the bill shouldn’t be “lumped in with human rights” because, and I quote: “Being gay is a lifestyle choice.” *drags out the soapbox and climbs atop* ...

The Return of Super!Emo!Thor

tmt165intro Issue #165, The Mighty Thor (June 1969) The Mighty Thor “HIM!” Thundering!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts! This has been a week made of utter suck and fail. It started with an extreme case of exhaustion and “too much to do” that kept Batsy from being snarked. Followed by the timing belt and water pump going out on the car (and the expen$ive repairs thereof), computer freezing/reboot issues that seriously have had me pulling out my hair, and cellphone wonkiness. Honestly? I’m still trying to figure out just what I’ve done to piss off the techno-gods enough to put me in this predicament. ...
