*Waves* So… there’s no snark this week.

I’ll try to get next week’s snark up and going, but this week? It’s been a week from hell and with work, heater issues, and just general insanity hitting us at every turn, it’s been tough getting my snark on.

Apologies, guys! I’ll be back soon!

Emo!Thor Sees The Unseen!

Issue #187, The Mighty Thor (April 1971)

The Mighty Thor “The World Is Lost!”

Thunderous!Thursday, Emo!Thor enthusiasts!

*checks the time* Yup. Coming in juuuuust under the wire. Apologies. It’s been a long, tough day full of all sorts of emotional stuff. So I’m going to keep this part short and sweet. Life is about two things: (more…)

Batsy Gets A New Hat

Issue #73, Detective Comics (March 1943)

Batman & Robin: “The Scarecrow Returns!”

Moody!Monday, Batfans! Happy National Chocolate Pecan Pie day! (Or, y’know, Tuesday and post pie day.)

Sorry about the delay, getting back into the work week is always a bit of an adjustment after our thrilling weekends, during which we quest so far, conquer so many lands, and flat out face-stab those who oppose our will. All from the comfort of our living room. Air conditioned to protect against the screamingly hot Pacific Northwest summer. Two whole days in the mid nineties, y’all. It was bedlam. I think I saw a neighbor spontaneously combust. (more…)

Emo!Thor Gets Touchy

Issue #186, The Mighty Thor (March 1971)

The Mighty Thor “Worlds At War!”

Thundering!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts!

Yup. Summer has officially come to Seattle and the drama-queening has already started. I’m willing to bet (because you won’t catch me out there actually LOOKING) that there’s already a dangerous shortage of portable A/C units and bottled water. BECAUSE SUMMERTIME IS SERIOUS BUSINESS, Y’ALL! This “heat wave” of “94 – 96” degree weather is only supposed to last 2 whole days. So you can BET the news will be talking about Summergeddon 2012 for the next week. (more…)

Batsy Gets His License

Issue #72, Detective Comics (February 1943)

Batman & Robin: “License For Larceny!”

Moody!Monday, Batfans!

It was another glorious weekend here in greater Seattle, with balmy temps and sunlit skies. And do you know what we did? We spent it inside our cave here at Hus Af Snark, being antisocial geeksters. Because that’s what we do around here sometimes.

Well, okay, so maybe not entirely antisocial. But our interactions with the populace at large were mainly abbreviated and punctuated by long stretches of “I don’t wanna be around people right now”-ness. (more…)

To Infinity! And…Beyond?

Issue #185, The Mighty Thor (February 1971)

The Mighty Thor “In The Grip Of Infinity!”

Thundering!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts!

I don’t have too much to update about today, prompted, in part, to not feeling so well.

If you saw the post yesterday, you know that Minutes To Midnight went live on Podiobooks and iTunes! We already have a bunch of subscribers, so if you’re feeling the need to listen to me read our book to you, then head on over and check it out. It’s totally free. (more…)

Ear Candy!

So I don’t often do this here, although I ought to, but to those of you who’ve been following along, we released our first novel back in February. You can find all the details at the book blog for Minutes To Midnight, along with the first 10 chapters in audio format.

Since there’s been a marked upswing in readers here (*waves*), I thought I’d announce it here, too, that Minutes To Midnight is now also free to listen to from Podiobooks! It won’t cost you a dime, you’ll get to listen to my dulcet tones reading the novel, and you can leave comments/reviews/donations if you so desire.

A Crime A Day Keeps The Batsy At Bay

Issue #71, Detective Comics (Jan 1943)

Batman & Robin: “A Crime A Day!”

Moody!Monday, Batfans!

Summer officially descended upon our fair city, bringing with it temps in the low 90s and the overwhelming panic that generally accompanies such dramatic changes in weather. Thankfully, most of the city was too busy spending time out at SeaFair to really have a chance to indulge in their hand-wringing antics, but true to form, on the news this morning, the anchors were all, “OMG! SO HOT! CAN WE HAVE THE COLD BACK NOW PLEASE?” And my favorite weatherman, Sam, was all, “LOL! NO! JUST KIDDING!” (more…)

Emo!Thor Gets Left Behind

Issue #184, The Mighty Thor (January 1971)

The Mighty Thor “The World Beyond!”

Thunderous!Thursday, Emo!Thor Enthusiasts!

So, I totally didn’t want to do this, but because of … complications… with the last issue of Thor, I’ve had to skip not one, but two issues because coming into a story arc right in the MIDDLE of the story is kinda like your DVR forgetting to tape the first hour of So You Think You Can Dance and realizing you’re going to be stuck watching the second hour and missing all those performances and maybe your favorite performers all went first.  True story. (more…)
